Responsibilities
- Design and own front-end architecture with Next.js, React, and TypeScript for enterprise commerce solutions.
- Lead rendering, state management, caching, Core Web Vitals, and performance architecture decisions.
- Document architectural decisions, define coding standards and workflows, and support AI-agent execution.
- Break down epics into user stories, acceptance criteria, estimates, and technical plans.
- Collaborate with clients during discovery and translate business requirements into architecture roadmaps.
- Unblock distributed engineering teams and communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs across stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience leading front-end architecture decisions for distributed teams of three or more engineers.
- Deep proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Next.js App Router, and React Server Components.
- Experience architecting enterprise commerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or BigCommerce.
- Expertise in performance engineering and Core Web Vitals optimization, including LCP, CLS, INP, caching, and CDN.
- Experience structuring specifications and tasks for AI-agent execution using tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Strong written and verbal English, client-facing communication, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with Contentful, Sanity, Contentstack, headless commerce, composable storefronts, Shopify Storefront API, Salesforce Commerce Cloud Composable Storefront, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, SCAYLE, and async-first teams across time zones.
