Responsibilities
- Build the checkout and payments system for Discord's business lines.
- Own projects end to end, from requirements to launch.
- Expand payment method coverage and optimize the checkout funnel.
- Integrate with third-party payment gateways to support purchase flows.
- Evolve the multi-tenant payments platform for new monetization features.
- Partner with Product, Finance, and Customer Success to improve workflows.
- Implement new fraud mitigations in collaboration with Safety and Fraud teams.
- Enhance the reliability and stability of Discord's billing system.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in backend development using Python.
- Working knowledge of frontend technologies like React and TypeScript.
- Possess a growth mindset and view challenges as learning opportunities.
- Maintain a high degree of empathy for users and seek feedback.
