Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into tasks, deliver them in phases, and collaborate with teammates to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Design, develop, launch, and operate backend systems and web applications for repayment user journeys.
- Create and monitor operational metrics, escalate issues, and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts.
- Navigate large codebases, debug code, write clear and extensible software, and participate in code reviews.
- Participate in team growth and development activities, including interviewing.
Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems with proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
- Experience shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Ability to turn business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components and produce well-tested, extensible code.
- Comfort debugging others’ code, navigating large codebases, and providing engineering feedback through code reviews.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Experience developing and architecting mobile applications with declarative frameworks such as React Native is preferred.
