Base Salary
$120k - $129k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build robust, scalable software solutions for Amplify’s learning platform.
- Develop frontend and backend code, automated tests, and related tooling using Python and JavaScript.
- Improve APIs and create student assessment reports, tools, and recommendations for teachers and administrators.
- Review code and collaborate with product, design, data science, education, and DevOps teams.
- Support deployment processes and infrastructure, including proactive testing, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree or training.
- 2–6 years of professional software development experience using Python and JavaScript.
- Experience with modern frontend and backend web technologies, software design, modern engineering practices, and databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working with complex systems and large codebases.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, learn independently, and communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing.
- Passion for education products and improving equity and accessibility.
- Preferred experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs; PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Snowflake; AWS AppSync, AWS Lambda, Datadog, Terraform, and Docker; and automated testing with Jest or WebdriverIO.
