Senior Software Developer
TELUS DigitalResponsibilities
- Support, transform, and build continuity for Kenan Application Support environments, including KGW and its migration or replacement with EBG.
- Develop backend software and manage data transformation logic for secure Government of Canada billing contracts.
- Perform relational database querying, analytical querying, data validation, and optimization.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform, Google Kubernetes Engine, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development, identify broken logic, and plan data transformation pathways.
- Maintain development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and performance monitoring.
- Perform unit testing and integration testing while supporting quality control.
- Collaborate with domain experts and document knowledge to support team alignment and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Must be an on-shore Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain Government Security Clearance.
- At least three years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Node.js; TypeScript and Express backend experience is a strong plus.
- Strong relational database experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle and at least three years of data transformation and analytical querying experience.
- Deep understanding of relational queries, including subqueries, analytic window functions, aggregations, triggers, partitioning, and index or optimization hints.
- Solid knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine, with foundational Kubernetes and container orchestration knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively with AI tools, especially Claude, and high proficiency with VS Code.
- Experience with GitHub and robust CI/CD pipelines, API design, and REST principles.
- Familiarity with Dynatrace and Jira.
- Billing-domain fundamentals, Kenan process or schema knowledge, or the aptitude to learn specialized billing systems.
- Strong quality, data validation, security awareness, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
