Base Salary
$140k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, cost-efficient backend services using Python and AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and EventBridge.
- Architect and build event-sourced systems and event-driven pipelines with reliable message processing, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn requirements into technical designs and shippable software.
- Implement security, logging, monitoring, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and promote technical excellence.
- Research and integrate technologies and patterns to improve development velocity and system performance.
- Use and evaluate AI-powered coding tools while addressing their quality, security, ethical, and intellectual property risks.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
- Expert-level Python proficiency for backend development, including Django.
- Strong working proficiency with Vue.js and TypeScript.
- Deep practical experience designing, deploying, and maintaining serverless applications, preferably with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and managed services.
- Proficiency with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Practical experience with event sourcing, event-driven architecture, message brokers, or streaming services such as SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or Kinesis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI-powered coding tools to achieve measurable productivity gains while mitigating code quality, security, and intellectual property risks.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS Step Functions, Kinesis, or SageMaker; work in regulated or compliance-focused environments; and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
