Responsibilities
- Design, develop, review, maintain, troubleshoot, and debug advanced software applications.
- Design software architecture and provide technical guidance to the backend development team.
- Develop secure, scalable, documented RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade microservices-based cloud-ready applications.
- Implement web application security best practices and ensure compliance with software development standards and security protocols.
- Explore the use of artificial intelligence across requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate user needs into technical solutions.
- Write and maintain design documents, user manuals, technical documentation, and release notes.
- Mentor junior software engineers and provide technical leadership and guidance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality and performance.
- Research emerging technologies, tools, algorithms, and software development practices.
- Plan and drive technical debt initiatives through completion.
- Drive critical organizational innovation and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of hands-on software development experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Strong backend application development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with cloud technologies and enterprise-grade microservices-based applications.
- Experience with Angular, React, Vue.js, or similar web development frameworks.
- Substantial experience implementing algorithms, including optimization or other challenging non-deterministic problem domains.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and consuming secure, scalable, and documented RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, system architecture, and industry best practices.
- Experience with JIRA, GitHub, or similar development tooling.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and promote engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, and learning skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and adapt to multiple technology stacks.
- AI/ML knowledge is highly desirable.
- C++ experience is highly desired; TypeScript or Python experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design and development.
- Experience with AWS, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Lambda, S3, EC2, Qt Framework, and modern web development frameworks or libraries is desirable.
