Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and deliver scalable Python/Django backend web applications and APIs.
- Own projects end to end from planning and architecture through delivery and support.
- Design and maintain APIs consumed by multiple third parties and integrate systems across external vendors.
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and process improvements proactively.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, clients, external teams, and vendors.
- Explain complex technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers through guidance, code reviews, and technical leadership.
- Maintain high standards for testing, quality, database design, optimization, and administration.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of Python backend web development experience, preferably in an agency or product environment.
- Strong experience with Django.
- Experience with Wagtail CMS or similar CMS platforms is preferred.
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust scalable APIs.
- Experience with complex integrations involving multiple external vendors.
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
- Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and administration.
- Strong experience with unit, integration, and other testing and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to own projects from planning through delivery and support.
- Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers and providing technical leadership.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Strong collaboration, initiative, communication, and leadership abilities.
