Responsibilities

  • Lead team-level system design covering detailed designs, API contracts, data flows, service interactions, integration patterns, and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Partner with engineers and architects to align implementations with platform architecture, modernization goals, and engineering standards.
  • Develop and optimize data-intensive applications and analytics capabilities using Databricks, Spark, and related technologies.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and deliver production-quality software across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across services, APIs, data workloads, and user experiences.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and troubleshoot issues across application, service, API, data, and cloud layers.
  • Mentor junior and midlevel engineers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, design feedback, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Improve software quality through reviews, automated testing, secure coding, observability, performance tuning, and production-readiness practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance, and reliable software.
  • Strong experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
  • Strong programming experience with Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Experience with Databricks, Spark, or PySpark, particularly for data pipelines and analytics-driven applications, is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native applications on AWS and/or Azure, with familiarity with containerization, Kubernetes, observability, automated testing, and production support.
  • Ability to lead team-level design discussions, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and guide implementation through technical influence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced degree, strong collaboration and communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills are preferred or advantageous.
