Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software features for existing and future optical networking products.
- Resolve bugs and sustaining issues in legacy products.
- Collaborate with validation, integration, optical, hardware, and test engineering teams to improve product performance and development efficiency.
- Drive code reviews and promote sound design practices across the team.
- Maintain accurate software documentation and provide input to the documentation team.
- Support pre-sales and post-sales customer interactions and provide guidance to Field Application Engineers.
- Work with global, cross-site development teams and follow applicable environmental and quality procedures.
Requirements
- University degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software systems.
- 3+ years of experience in the optical networking industry, including L0 and/or L1 equipment.
- Expertise in C and C++ programming for embedded systems.
- Experience with system software functions including northbound interfaces, platform infrastructure, BSP, photonic control, alarms, performance monitoring, and service management.
- Familiarity with L2/L3 protocols such as LLDP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Experience across the Agile development lifecycle, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with open-source projects such as SONiC, FRRouting, and Open vSwitch is preferred.
- Familiarity with Netconf, OpenConfig, YANG models, security protocols, ROADM, ILA, virtualization, and container technologies.
- Programming experience in C, C++, Go, and Python, including object-oriented, embedded Linux multiprocessing, and multithreading design.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and experience working with global teams; Chinese language knowledge is an asset.
