Base Salary

$125k - $145k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly reliable autonomous software systems and the simulations required to validate them.
  • Own software design, testing, integration, deployment, and mission lifecycle activities.
  • Collaborate with counterpart engineering teams to develop and maintain launch and vehicle software.
  • Work across disciplines and at the system level to ensure software is viable for high-performance flight hardware.
  • Investigate and solve previously unsolved or unknown technical problems within rapid development timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • Graduating with a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in 2026 or 2027.
  • Proficiency or demonstrated knowledge of C++, Rust, or another systems programming language is preferred.
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems or distributed computing systems is preferred.
  • Strong software design, architecture, implementation, critical-thinking, communication, accountability, and problem-solving abilities are preferred.
  • Applicants must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Applicants must satisfy SpaceX ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
  • An active security clearance may provide opportunities to work on sensitive missions; applicable pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing may apply.
