Responsibilities
- Own architecture for managed and unmanaged RAP business objects, transactional behavior, draft, locking, validations, determinations, actions, side effects, and services.
- Design CDS interface, composite, consumption, projection, and analytical views with annotations, access control, semantics, and performance considerations.
- Define clean-core and ABAP Cloud patterns using released objects, whitelisted APIs, developer extensibility, in-app extensibility, and side-by-side approaches.
- Lead OData V4, service definition and binding, custom API, communication arrangement, event, and BTP integration design.
- Guide EML, save sequence, transactional consistency, authorization, workflow, background processing, Technical Jobs, and AJF design.
- Establish ATC, AUnit, RAP contract checks, reviews, secure coding, performance, and CI/CD controls.
- Lead root-cause analysis across RAP, CDS, database, OData, authorization, and Fiori Elements.
- Mentor developers, review designs, estimate initiatives, and manage technical debt and risk.
- Use and guide adoption of AI and generative AI capabilities for development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and automation while addressing security, privacy, human oversight, clean-core principles, and AI governance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SAP RAP architecture and development, including managed and unmanaged business objects and transactional behavior.
- Expertise designing CDS views, annotations, access control, semantics, and performance-conscious solutions.
- Knowledge of clean-core, ABAP Cloud, released objects, whitelisted APIs, developer extensibility, and side-by-side extensibility.
- Experience with OData V4, service definitions and bindings, custom APIs, communication arrangements, events, and BTP integration.
- Knowledge of EML, save sequences, transactional consistency, authorization, workflow, background processing, Technical Jobs, and AJF.
- Experience with ATC, AUnit, RAP contract checks, secure coding, performance engineering, and CI/CD controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot across RAP, CDS, databases, OData, authorization, and Fiori Elements and to mentor developers.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Microsoft Copilot, including code generation and unit testing.
- Ability to guide responsible AI adoption with attention to security, data privacy, human oversight, clean-core principles, and applicable governance requirements.
