Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, debug, and troubleshoot firmware solutions for cloud hardware systems.
- Define firmware requirements and specifications with hardware, software, validation, integration, security, product, vendor, and research teams.
- Develop scalable, modular, and maintainable firmware architecture and modules for USB vNIC, SPI, I2C, I3C, PCIe, and related hardware interfaces.
- Perform platform-level debugging and resolve hardware- and firmware-related issues across multiple subsystems.
- Develop platform security threat models in partnership with vendors and security teams.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal developers and external partners.
- Contribute to product vision, roadmaps, and innovation for the server manageability ecosystem.
- Coach team members and support their continued technical growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing firmware or software solutions.
- Experience with BMC, Embedded Linux, U-Boot, and Board Support Package porting.
- Experience with platform initialization, low-level peripheral drivers, memory management, scheduling, interrupts, or multithreading technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of OpenBMC, DMTF MCTP, Redfish, PLDM, SPDM, and RAS.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and other applicable security screening requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree with 8+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of core networking protocols and REST API frameworks is an added plus.
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, design, development, independence, and ambiguity-management skills.
