Base Salary
$150k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Manage customer problems through diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of investigation tools for Google Cloud Platform issues.
- Troubleshoot, reproduce, and determine root causes for customer-reported issues while developing tools for faster diagnosis.
- Build expertise in Google product technologies and underlying architectures.
- Consult with Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles.
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to improve products and production quality.
- Advocate for customer needs and improve related documentation, tools, and processes.
- Work non-standard hours or shifts, including weekends, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Nine years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs or triaging technical issues across hardware, software, applications, operations, or processes.
- Experience with computer networking and web technologies including HTTP, HTML, and DNS.
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration or operating systems.
- Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Perl, or Visual Basic.
- Preferred experience troubleshooting cloud accelerators such as GPUs and TPUs.
- Preferred experience with cloud computing through certifications, internships, or coursework.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems and common solutions, design patterns, or best practices.
- Preferred experience with system virtualization or on-premise or hybrid cloud computing.
