Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and operate ByteDance’s global infrastructure across public and private clouds.
- Develop automation frameworks, operational tools, visualizations, and monitoring systems for infrastructure optimization.
- Create, manage, and standardize cloud AMIs and images across multiple environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot cloud, operating system, network, performance, and reliability incidents.
- Improve infrastructure processes from design and development through deployment, support, and continuous refinement.
- Operate cloud hosts, image systems, resource scheduling, virtualization platforms, containers, and GPU clusters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Linux operations, SRE, or DevOps.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or C++, with engineering experience in platform development, system tooling, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, computer networks, storage systems, GPU systems, databases, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Understanding of monitoring and alerting, capacity management, change management, canary or gray releases, incident response, and postmortems.
- Preferred experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP and large-scale cloud host delivery, AMI systems, resource scheduling, network adaptation, and KVM/QEMU.
- Preferred familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, containerd, cgroups, namespaces, GPU drivers, CUDA, MIG, GPU topology, stress testing, and GPU delivery pipelines.
- Large-scale production operations, reliability initiatives, open-source contributions, technical blogs, patents, or technical presentations are preferred or advantageous.
