Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, operate, and maintain infrastructure platform software for Site Reliability Engineering and enterprise retail store systems.
- Build internal reliability platforms on Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine using Terraform and cdk8s.
- Deploy, configure, tune, and maintain Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus, Pyroscope, and AlertManager on Kubernetes.
- Create PromQL, LogQL, and TraceQL queries, dashboards, alert rules, SLOs, SLIs, and error-budget monitoring.
- Build and maintain automation runners, integration plugins, GitHub-backed access controls, self-service onboarding tools, and infrastructure deployment pipelines.
- Develop AI-assisted workflows using GitHub Copilot and participate in on-call support for observability and automation infrastructure.
- Investigate production incidents, conduct destructive and performance testing, contribute to post-mortems, and implement systemic improvements.
- Document platform operations through runbooks and onboarding guides for internal engineering teams.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in a related occupation and three years of experience with GKE, GCP, Terraform, cdk8s, TypeScript, Kubernetes observability platforms, SLO/SLI monitoring, automation infrastructure, Python or TypeScript, synthetic monitoring, Kubernetes security controls, GitHub Actions, production troubleshooting, and secret lifecycle management.
- Experience with Kubernetes workloads, Helm charts, Terraform-managed GCP resources, RBAC, namespace isolation, service accounts, Workload Identity, CI/CD workflows, and automated credential rotation.
- Experience operating distributed production systems and troubleshooting pod failures, resource contention, network policies, storage issues, and observability pipeline bottlenecks.
