Responsibilities
- Develop and improve Firefox features related to installation, updates, and operating-system integration
- Enhance the Firefox installation and update experience using data insights
- Address low-level, platform-specific operating-system integration challenges on Windows and macOS
- Scope and prioritize work with the manager and teammates
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Own complex bugs and lead efforts to improve the Firefox experience for hundreds of millions of users
- Collaborate with a geographically distributed team
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience with systems-level programming on Windows or macOS
- Strong programming skills in C and C++
- Ability to work independently on scoped projects and collaborate in distributed teams
- Experience with Rust is a bonus
- Experience with low-level Windows or macOS APIs such as Win32 or Cocoa is a bonus
- Additional Linux or macOS internals experience is a bonus
- Open-source contributions are a bonus
