Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack product features using Ruby on Rails APIs, GraphQL, Vue 3, SvelteKit, and TypeScript.
- Own the Vue 3 micro-frontend rewrite while maintaining the existing SvelteKit application.
- Design GraphQL schemas, batch loading, and query complexity management for high-traffic multi-tenant systems.
- Build event-driven services using EventBridge and SQS with reliable asynchronous processing and idempotency.
- Evolve the Lambda-backed worker framework supporting more than 400 workers.
- Architect multi-tenant data patterns across MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis while maintaining tenant isolation and compliance.
- Create Terraform modules and GitLab CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment, multi-region deployments.
- Own major subsystem evolution, define solutions to complex problems, conduct architecture reviews, write ADRs, and provide technical direction across teams.
- Translate strategic goals into technical roadmaps with Product, Security, and Infrastructure teams and guide senior engineers through reviews and technical leadership.
Requirements
- BS or equivalent plus 10 years of experience, MS or equivalent plus 5 years, or Ph.D. or equivalent plus 4 years.
- 5+ years scaling production Ruby on Rails applications and expertise with GraphQL and MySQL/PostgreSQL performance tuning.
- Strong proficiency with a modern component framework, strict TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS; Vue 3 and SvelteKit experience are preferred.
- Deep AWS experience, including ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and S3, plus Terraform and GitLab CI/CD proficiency.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures and managing asynchronous processing, eventual consistency, idempotency, and failure handling at scale.
- Demonstrated Staff-level technical leadership, including ADRs, cross-team design, and engineering for FedRAMP, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 environments.
- Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude and Claude Code.
- Preferred qualifications include leading front-end framework migrations, scaling Rails under real traffic, operating serverless background-processing frameworks, DynamoDB/Redis data modeling, and integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows.
