Responsibilities
- Guide the team in designing, building, testing, upgrading, and optimizing Vena’s core platform.
- Resolve complex bugs and technical challenges in foundational backend systems.
- Drive modernization, product quality, code quality, performance, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
- Lead technical projects, collaborate with architecture and product teams on roadmaps, and address cross-team technical issues.
- Mentor and upskill developers while contributing directly to the codebase.
- Identify, prioritize, and address technical debt during planning.
- Promote AI-driven development practices and productivity tooling.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience focused on backend or server-side engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Dropwizard or Spring Boot; Dropwizard experience is preferred.
- Experience modernizing large, established codebases and applying object-oriented design patterns.
- Understanding of algorithms and computational complexity.
- Experience leading technical projects and mentoring developers.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Interest in AI-driven solutions and experience working in Scrum/Agile and distributed-team environments.
Benefits
- The role is based in Pune and requires working from the office five days per week.
- Base salary range is 3,799,461 - 5,140,448 INR.
- Compensation may be adjusted based on location, skills, experience, education, role progression, and growth.
