Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define cloud security standards, guardrails, reference architectures, objectives, and technical roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional security initiatives and represent cloud security in architecture and design forums.
- Own threat modeling, secure-by-default cloud architecture, IAM strategy, and cloud security posture management across AWS, GCP, and self-managed systems.
- Design detections and SIEM rules, lead cloud incident response and forensics, and codify findings into playbooks and preventative controls.
- Own security tooling including CrowdStrike, Tenable, and native cloud security services, as well as cloud vulnerability management.
- Secure self-managed Kubernetes environments, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, container and VM images, patching, and version management.
- Lead security practices for large-scale distributed systems and self-managed data stores such as MongoDB.
- Mentor and uplevel security and platform engineers through pairing, design review, feedback, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Several years of production cloud security ownership, including on-call responsibility.
- Hands-on experience with AWS as the primary cloud, GCP, and self-managed Kubernetes.
- Ability to read and write Python and Terraform code.
- Experience with secure cloud architecture, threat modeling, IAM, detection engineering, incident response, cloud forensics, vulnerability management, and Kubernetes or platform security.
- Ability to define technical direction, lead ambiguous cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and establish organization-wide security standards.
