Responsibilities
- Lead architectural work for AI-native codebases, including API contracts, semantic naming, and module boundaries.
- Build repo-versioned context infrastructure used by AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex.
- Develop self-healing incident workflows that triage alerts, retrieve logs and history, and suggest remediation with human oversight.
- Build multi-step agent workflows with tool use, autonomous task execution, and human-gated checkpoints for product features.
- Create evaluation systems and workflows that improve the correctness, security, and maintainability of AI-generated code.
- Ship AI-first product features end-to-end while setting technical direction and shaping product decisions with engineers, PMs, and designers.
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of production software engineering experience.
- Strong backend skills in Python, Kotlin, or Java, including experience evolving service-level logic and infrastructure.
- Hands-on LLM experience in real products, including prompt design, context management, evaluation, and trade-off analysis involving hallucinations, latency, cost, and reliability.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures, including queues, asynchronous processing, and service-to-service communication.
- Daily use of AI coding tools as a core development workflow, with the ability to refine prompts and identify tool limitations.
- Experience building agentic systems in production or performing deep work with multi-step LLM workflows involving tool use, memory, and orchestration.
- Experience as a founding engineer or founder, or as a 0-to-1 engineer who can turn business insights into prototypes and validate ideas quickly, is a strong fit.
