Responsibilities
- Develop and execute API testing strategies and automated testing solutions for validation, functional testing, and integration testing.
- Design and maintain automated API testing scripts and frameworks covering functionality, response accuracy, error handling, and specification conformance.
- Test data flows, file transfer workflows, and job execution pipelines for end-to-end reliability.
- Create test management documentation, define and report quality metrics, manage test data, and coordinate defect resolution.
- Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to onshore and offshore team members.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, business, and vendor teams to translate requirements into testing scenarios and implement testing solutions.
- Manage testing across multiple environments and integrate tests with continuous delivery pipelines.
- Recommend improvements to testing processes, technology, and interfaces.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in API testing and validation across REST, SOAP, and other API protocols.
- At least 2 years of experience working with and testing managed file transfer and job scheduling platforms.
- Strong proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or Insomnia.
- Strong knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger, RAML, OAuth, JWT, mutual TLS, and API keys.
- Experience testing EDI/MFT platforms such as Seeburger and ACES and job scheduling platforms such as ESP, Airflow, and Stonebranch.
- Proven ability to mentor team members and provide technical direction.
- Proficiency with Git version control, branching strategies, and testing in continuous delivery environments.
- Experience with Azure Test Plans, Jira, QMetry, and quality metrics reporting.
- Preferred experience with API performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling.
- Preferred experience using AI tools such as Copilot for test design or test automation.
