Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production AI agents using governed model selection, evaluation, safety, versioning, and testing practices.
- Implement agentic automation for cloud infrastructure, including incident triage, environment provisioning, configuration generation, and operational workflows.
- Operate and improve highly available distributed systems on AWS, addressing performance, scalability, stability, and reliability issues.
- Evolve the Cortex developer control plane with AI-powered self-service for service scaffolding, deployment debugging, and issue resolution.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code and automated remediation practices for agentic systems and owned services.
- Participate in on-call rotations, document architectures and procedures, and use post-mortems to improve reliability.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate with engineering, product, security, Staff engineers, and management on platform initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of cloud infrastructure experience with large-scale, high-availability, customer-facing distributed systems.
- Hands-on production experience building and operating AI-driven systems, including agentic workflows and meaningful operational-toil reduction.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes at scale, containerized and serverless architectures, Terraform, Ansible, and Datadog.
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or custom agentic architectures, plus production prompt engineering.
- Strong coding ability in Python and/or Go and experience treating infrastructure and agentic systems as software.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading well-scoped platform initiatives.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, compliance, model safety, prompt-injection prevention, data isolation, guardrails, audit logging, and LLM data governance.
- Preferred experience with Linkerd, Istio, Argo CD, Flux CD, GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, MLOps, LLMOps, service mesh, traffic management, AI-driven alerting, and root-cause analysis.
Benefits
- Base salary of $228,000-$279,000 plus equity and benefits.
- Hybrid position in Mountain View requiring in-office work two days per week.
- Participation in on-call rotations is required.
