Base Salary

$160k - $193k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the cloud infrastructure platform using infrastructure as code practices.
  • Build infrastructure with container orchestration technologies such as EKS and Kubernetes.
  • Select managed cloud services that support platform engineering and software development goals.
  • Design and build CI/CD tools, automation, and secure software deployment practices.
  • Implement highly available, reliable, scalable, and performant cloud infrastructure components.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions for proactive issue detection, troubleshooting, and analysis.
  • Partner with security teams to meet industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA engineers, software development teams, and systems integration teams.
  • Lead engineers in building and maintaining infrastructure, site reliability, and engineering productivity systems.
  • Own the internal developer portal and Scout’s developer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer, systems architect, or software engineer focused on platform systems.
  • Proficiency building automation with Python, Shell, Ruby, or similar languages.
  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
  • Expertise with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet configuration management tools.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, Harness.io, and ArgoCD.
  • Expert knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Expert knowledge of Crossplane, Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience designing and developing software solutions for platform integrations, automation, and developer experiences using Rust, Go, Python, or Java.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, teaching, and coaching skills.

  • Base salary range is $160,000–$192,500 annually; California base salary range is $176,000–$211,750 annually, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
