Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business and technology problems.
- Create scalable solution architectures using modern software engineering practices, automated delivery tooling, cloud capabilities, containerization, and serverless approaches.
- Define API strategies, integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and workflow automation solutions.
- Design secure, resilient systems that balance technology risks, controls, business value, performance, capacity, and cost.
- Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues using available tooling.
- Prepare architecture, privacy, security, and records-management governance artifacts.
- Lead strategic projects and function-wide initiatives while influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Guide, coach, and develop less experienced specialists and provide expert advice to senior management.
- Coordinate resourcing, budgeting, policy creation, compliance, and regulatory adherence for a significant function or sub-function.
Requirements
- Excellent architectural design skills, including API strategy, integration patterns, and alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
- Strong expertise in Java-based enterprise application design, performance optimization, and modular architecture principles.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka event-driven architectures, stream processing, and high-throughput messaging patterns.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes container orchestration for scalable, resilient, and secure deployments.
- Practical knowledge of Camunda or comparable workflow automation and BPM platforms integrated with distributed systems.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-availability architectures, particularly in financial services or other mission-critical environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitLab.
- Understanding of performance tuning and capacity planning for large-scale, low-latency systems.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL optimization, ideally with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory compliance for secure banking solutions.
- Extensive functional knowledge, advanced analytical skills, strategic project leadership, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
