Responsibilities
- Design and implement firmware for battery-powered and wired IoT devices running on microcontrollers and RTOS environments.
- Own firmware components across architecture, implementation, code review, testing, delivery, and maintenance.
- Define and implement software interfaces consumed by other teams and services.
- Debug issues spanning hardware bring-up, embedded systems, and production defects in the field.
- Maintain CI pipelines, build systems, and automated test infrastructure for embedded products.
- Collaborate with hardware, cloud, mobile, and product teams to translate requirements into reliable firmware.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience is required.
- Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design, is required.
- Production RTOS experience involving task design, inter-task communication, and synchronization primitives is required.
- Experience implementing low-level drivers and interrupt service routines is required.
- Experience with embedded unit testing, integration testing, or CI pipelines targeting embedded hardware is required.
- Experience owning a software component from design through delivery and maintenance is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, full software development lifecycle experience, wireless protocol experience, battery-powered product experience, interface or library design, SPI/I2C/UART, Embedded Linux, Yocto, BSP development, IAR or Keil, Python scripting, AI or ML integration, and AWS IoT or cloud-connected device development.
