Base Salary
$190k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the productized software architecture for customer satellite missions.
- Architect, design, and manage software requirements for systems within BlackSky’s Ground Segment.
- Distill unified requirements and system design across major customers and programs.
- Communicate with stakeholders and translate requirements into engineering specifications.
- Evaluate the impact of changes on systems and manage associated risks.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of architecture documentation.
- Coordinate development across software teams and ensure effective capability integration.
- Work with engineering teams on system design elements and best practices.
- Support customer program execution by aligning with common missions ground architecture.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration on system capabilities.
- Organize and track projects, manage risks, and prioritize tasks.
- Collaborate with managers and technical groups to address customer issues.
- Develop models and analyze data to support decision-making.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of related work experience with at least five years in systems architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
- Experience architecting complex software systems.
- Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable components.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices and agile development.
- Experience with Kubernetes and on-premises software deployments.
- Experience designing Software APIs and system integrations.
- Knowledge of the software engineering life cycle and related tools.
- Effective communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience developing Concepts of Operations based on customer requirements.
- Basic algorithm or modeling experience for system behavior.
- Proficient in Golang, C++, or Python.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.
