Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver quarterly department objectives.
  • Plan, design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain customer-facing and non-customer-facing software.
  • Develop code independently and through pair programming.
  • Write and maintain design, user, test, and technical documentation.
  • Triage, debug, and resolve functionality issues, bugs, alerts, and production errors.
  • Support software testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Create SQL for Tech Updates and prepare it for review.
  • Review business needs, requirements, technical specifications, and peer contributions.
  • Perform code reviews, approve pull requests, and perform point releases.
  • Maintain build and stage stability and contribute to application stability.
  • Research and prototype technologies and evolve system-wide architecture.
  • Mentor and guide less senior staff and assist team members with planning, design, and implementation.
  • Work with the SSO to prioritize work and understand strategic product direction.
  • Participate in retrospectives and improve development efficiency.

Requirements

  • Completed B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience with Java 8+, SQL, Unix shell commands, version control, JDBC, Hibernate or JPA, Spring MVC, build tools such as Gradle or Maven, CI tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo, JVM and garbage collection, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud computing, and load balancing.
  • At least 8 years of software development experience.
  • Experience with Java, Spring, related technologies, relational databases, table design, testing, continuous integration and delivery tooling, large-scale processing, monitoring, alerting, and production support.
  • Experience with mentoring or training teams, owning larger pieces of work, and influencing architecture and interdisciplinary dependencies.
  • Exposure to Google Cloud technology and front-end technologies is highly desired.
  • Open-source contributions and knowledge of digital marketing are beneficial.
  • Affiliate and Partnerships Industry Fundamentals Certification by PXA is a nice-to-have.
