Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support a world-class search platform serving customers at scale.
- Write robust, efficient, and maintainable code primarily in Java and Python.
- Contribute to OpenSearch open-source software and upstream projects.
- Solve challenging problems in distributed systems, AI, data storage, query optimization, high availability, and security.
- Lead architecture and design decisions, drive algorithm and architecture design, and deliver results.
- Mentor engineers and help evolve the platform to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
