Base Salary

$184k - $297k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Layer-7 identity and inspection security features for next-generation firewalls.
  • Create functional specifications, assess task requirements and schedules, and assist with development, debugging, and support.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements for software performance and scalability.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the development process.
  • Communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams.
  • Interview, mentor, and coach new team members.
  • Collaborate with product management, quality assurance, and field support throughout the software development cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical/military experience.
  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant time in senior technical leadership roles.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ on Unix-based platforms.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP and familiarity with TLS and L4-L7 security protocols.
  • Experience with TLS and web proxies.
  • Experience developing and optimizing software for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Ability to use AI agents as a co-pilot.
