Base Salary
$200k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate continuous security monitoring, triage, investigation, containment, and remediation across networks and infrastructure.
- Build, lead, hire, and mentor teams spanning observability, detection and response, and threat intelligence.
- Establish incident playbooks, on-call and escalation paths, tabletop exercises, and continuous improvements to response quality and speed.
- Partner with Engineering teams to ensure critical telemetry is available, reliable, and actionable across cloud, corporate, and production environments.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure to embed detection and response capabilities into Serval’s systems.
- Build a security program capable of handling sophisticated adversaries, including through use of Serval’s agents for security-operations problems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep expertise in detection engineering, incident response, and security operations.
- Deep experience building and leading detection and response, instrumentation/observability, and threat intelligence teams.
- Demonstrated leadership and sustained improvement of security programs, processes, and people.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, calm execution under pressure, and experience leading complex security incidents with diverse stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in modern observability stacks, including SIEM, data lakes, EDR, cloud telemetry, logging, and detection primitives.
- Understanding of modern adversary tradecraft and experience translating it into practical detection strategies and response actions.
- Strong integrity, mission orientation, and passion for detecting and responding to adversaries in complex, fast-paced environments.
