Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed backend systems and file systems at scale across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Build and ship high-quality software components and algorithms in a multi-tenant, microservices-based SaaS environment.
- Make architectural and design decisions focused on performance, scalability, and extensibility.
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing.
- Work with queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, workload distribution, and relational and non-relational databases.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Design systems in which AI agents integrate with human workflows and maintain shared system context for reliable AI operation.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and leadership across the team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development and large-scale system design.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node.js, or C++.
- Experience developing SaaS applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Trino, Redshift, and MongoDB.
- Experience with queues, locking, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution.
- Deep understanding of software development best practices and demonstrated technical leadership.
- Preferred experience using AI-assisted development tools, designing AI-agent and human workflows, building multi-tenant microservices-based SaaS architectures, and mentoring engineers.
