Responsibilities
- Own the Azure DevOps organization, projects, teams, security groups, service connections, variable groups, secure files, build agents, Azure Boards, and Azure Artifacts.
- Define and enforce Git repository structures, branching strategies, branch policies, pull request workflows, versioning, tagging, rollback, and repository security standards.
- Design, build, and maintain YAML-based CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake SQL, dbt models, Streamlit applications, stored procedures, and supporting scripts.
- Own database change management and state-based deployment across development, SIT, UAT, and production environments.
- Implement automated testing, deployment gates, approvals, validation, recovery, and reproducible environment configuration using infrastructure-as-code.
- Manage the end-to-end release calendar, change records, release readiness, stakeholder coordination, approval forums, and auditable release trails.
- Administer RBAC, secrets management, data masking, PII controls, certificates, artifact repositories, and security-scanning remediation across Snowflake and Azure DevOps.
- Drive continuous improvement in deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to restore while coordinating with data engineering, testing, reporting, architecture, and infrastructure teams.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps Repos, YAML Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts, self-hosted agents, and service connections.
- Expert knowledge of Git branching strategies, branch policies, pull requests, tagging, versioning, merging, rebasing, cherry-picking, and rollback procedures.
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating automated production deployment pipelines in controlled and audited environments.
- Experience with release management, change control, release governance, stakeholder coordination, database change management, and state-based deployment approaches.
- Strong working knowledge of Snowflake administration, RBAC, masking policies, and cost and performance optimization.
- Experience with dbt and SQL in a modern cloud data warehouse environment.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, PowerShell, Bash, Python, and monitoring or alerting tooling.
- Knowledge of networking, certificates, and security-scanning tools is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of reinsurance or insurance industry concepts is a bonus.
