Base Salary
$153k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable Node.js and TypeScript backend services and performant React and Next.js applications.
- Design extensible architectures and make trade-offs across performance, security, and maintainability.
- Own complex features through architecture, API design, UI implementation, release, and post-release observability.
- Improve service availability, alerting, logging, incident response, and long-term reliability.
- Set engineering standards through code reviews, technical mentorship, and design documentation.
- Partner with product, design, and stakeholders to align engineering work with business and user needs.
- Lead technical design reviews and system decomposition efforts across teams.
- Identify operational and architectural resilience risks and drive durable improvements.
- Reduce knowledge silos through cross-training and documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead post-incident reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8–12 years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL and experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering scalable production systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance through code reviews and design feedback.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to evaluate scalability, reliability, and maintainability trade-offs.
- Experience designing observability and operational excellence practices, including logs, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and align product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Preferred familiarity with regulated domains and high-availability infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with Docker, AWS ECS/EKS, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, event-driven architecture, or microservices with asynchronous workflows.
