Base Salary
$114k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance Java and Spring backend services for scalable data processing applications.
- Architect efficient solutions for intensive calculations, complex business logic, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver product features.
- Optimize backend performance, quality, responsiveness, SQL queries, data joins, and data models.
- Diagnose system bottlenecks and bugs and implement resilient long-term solutions.
- Apply Test-Driven Development, design patterns, architectural principles, and SonarQube to improve testability and code quality.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools and prompt engineering techniques to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience building Java backend applications, including Java 17 or later.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency with the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational or NoSQL database management, including query and data-model optimization.
- Understanding of in-memory data loading and efficient data joining strategies for large-scale pipelines.
- Knowledge of Maven or Gradle, JUnit, Mockito, and dependency management.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, Test-Driven Development, design patterns, and tools such as SonarQube.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift; and Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
- A master's degree in a relevant technical field is beneficial.
