Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Framework for retail banking applications.
- Develop Python services, automation scripts, utilities, and data-processing components.
- Create, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and data access layers.
- Integrate microservices with relational databases and internal banking platforms while maintaining data consistency and auditability.
- Translate retail banking business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Apply secure coding practices covering authentication, authorization, input validation, encryption, and data protection.
- Perform unit, integration, and regression testing for new features and enhancements.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across microservices and database layers.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain reusable components and consistent design patterns.
- Maintain technical documentation for APIs, data models, and service interactions.
- Collaborate with site reliability and operations teams on deployment pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Contribute to improvements in tooling, development practices, and retail banking platform architecture.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on enterprise experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Advanced Python proficiency for services, automation, and data processing.
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and transaction management.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and fault-tolerant microservices.
- Experience with retail banking processes such as accounts, payments, loans, and customer servicing.
- Experience with agile delivery practices, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and frequent production releases.
- Understanding of secure software development practices suitable for regulated banking platforms.
- Familiarity with version control systems, build tools, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business analysts, testers, operations personnel, product owners, architects, and engineers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and maintainability-focused engineering skills.
- Openness to learning new frameworks, tools, and banking domain concepts.
