Responsibilities
- Develop clinical coding software solutions, primarily for 360 Encompass, along with related clinician-facing products, regional capabilities, custom development, and advanced integrations.
- Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain production-quality software features, components, tools, and workflows.
- Lead selected design discussions, code reviews, technical analyses, and implementation planning while automating component and unit tests and improving performance.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, clinical analysts, implementation engineers, quality engineers, support teams, and other stakeholders to deliver capabilities.
- Investigate and resolve escalated issues involving applications, interfaces, APIs, healthcare data exchange, data processing, and platform components.
- Document technical behavior and share technical knowledge with peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of software development experience, or a high school diploma/GED or higher plus six years of software development experience.
- Five years of software development experience using C#/.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Five years of programming experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Three years of experience with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2.x, FHIR, APIs, or data exchange workflows.
- Three years of experience developing, testing, and maintaining commercial, enterprise, healthcare, or customer-facing software solutions.
- Experience with full-stack web application development, backend services, front-end interfaces, web server configuration, operating system setup, and TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, Microsoft TFS, and Microsoft Windows operating system internals and APIs is preferred.
- Experience with hospital medical record systems or healthcare workflows such as clinical coding, grouping, editing, abstracting, reimbursement, or billing is preferred.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
