Responsibilities
- Design and develop products and systems according to technical strategy, project timelines, quality requirements, and product-management objectives.
- Architect, develop, maintain, and modernize features for the Sophos Firewall and related network security products.
- Define and support unit, system, and integration testing, fix defects, and assess potential effects on other products or systems.
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews of code, designs, and specifications.
- Review requirements for completeness, identify ambiguities, and recommend alternative approaches to Product Management.
- Promote improved design and development approaches to increase quality, reliability, and implementation speed.
- Suggest improvements to engineering standards and procedures and own assigned implementation activities.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of professional experience with C/C++ programming, Linux system programming, and Linux kernel programming.
- At least 5 years of experience in networking, routing, network security, cryptography, TCP/IP stacks, and application protocols such as DHCP, DNS, LDAP, HTTP, HTTPS, and TLS.
- Bachelor’s or Master of Science degree in Computer Software, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- AWS experience is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, quality-focused, self-directed, creative, adaptive, listening, and collaboration skills.
