Responsibilities
- Perform static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries to identify functionality, capabilities, and Indicators of Compromise.
- Reverse engineer malware using assembly language to analyze adversary behavior and TTPs.
- Develop and maintain malware detection signatures using YARA, SNORT, and comparable detection technologies.
- Analyze APT activity and emerging malware and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Research malware capabilities, persistence mechanisms, command-and-control communications, and exploitation techniques.
- Conduct computer network analysis to identify malicious activity and support threat detection.
- Collaborate with cyber operators, analysts, and engineers to investigate threats and develop defensive solutions.
- Produce technical reports, malware assessments, and threat intelligence documentation.
- Stay current with evolving malware techniques, reverse engineering methodologies, and cybersecurity trends.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with an active polygraph with the customer.
- Bachelor's degree and 11+ years of experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, or cybersecurity.
- CISSP or an equivalent DoD-approved cybersecurity certification.
- Proficiency analyzing malicious binaries and reverse engineering software using assembly language.
- Experience analyzing IOCs and APT activity, developing malware detection signatures, assessing cyber risk, and creating mitigation strategies.
- Experience with computer networking and adversary TTPs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Preferred experience with Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, x64dbg, or similar reverse engineering platforms.
- Preferred experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense cyber operations, digital forensics, incident response, threat hunting, and Python or other scripting automation.
