Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for UniFi Drive that provide fast, secure, and reliable data access and storage.
- Develop RESTful APIs for file operations, user access, and device integration.
- Ensure efficient data handling across distributed systems with attention to consistency, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Integrate with hardware and firmware layers to improve file storage and retrieval performance.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver features and improvements.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of production backend development experience using Golang.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and optimization.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, security, and versioning.
- Familiarity with file system concepts, data consistency, and caching strategies.
- Experience with concurrent programming, network protocols, and system-level performance tuning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving, analysis, and debugging abilities.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency with AI development environments such as Cursor and Claude Code, plus expertise in AI development techniques such as Spec-Driven Development.
- Preferred experience with NAS, file sharing, or cloud storage solutions.
- Preferred knowledge of NFS, SMB/CIFS, WebDAV, S3-compatible systems, data deduplication, replication, backup strategies, Unix/Linux systems, system calls, performance profiling, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, RAID, disk health monitoring, and hardware-software integration.
