Responsibilities
- Oversee daily vulnerability assessment and penetration-testing workflows across hybrid infrastructure, ensuring scanning coverage, accurate triage, and SLA enforcement.
- Lead response efforts for zero-day vulnerabilities, active exploitation threats, and other critical security events.
- Analyze vulnerabilities, eliminate false positives, assess exploitability, and prioritize remediation using threat intelligence and CVSS/SSVC metrics.
- Track remediation, vulnerability aging, SLAs, and exception or deferral workflows with system, network, and application owners.
- Define operational KPIs and deliver reports to leadership and audit teams.
- Translate operational bottlenecks into automation requirements and validate scripts, API integrations, automated tools, and CI/CD security gates.
- Lead, mentor, and schedule operational VA/PT analysts while managing workloads, escalations, and vendor relationships.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, vulnerability management, or penetration testing.
- 3+ years of experience in an operational lead or supervisory capacity.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Deep experience with vulnerability scanning, threat intelligence, manual verification, and network or application infrastructure.
- Experience authoring technical requirements and performing acceptance testing for security automation and tool integrations.
- Hands-on operational experience with Qualys, Nessus, Snyk, XSIAM, Invicti/Netsparker, Twistlock/Prisma Cloud, Metasploit, Burp Suite Pro, Jira, and ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, OWASP Top 10, CIS Benchmarks, PCI-DSS, and ISO requirements.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for script verification, automation-code review, and API validation.
