Base Salary
$182k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build a low-latency, high-throughput Rust data forwarding plane using asynchronous I/O and service-oriented infrastructure.
- Develop distributed, scalable systems focused on concurrency, fault tolerance, and messaging.
- Implement and maintain gRPC APIs and services connecting forwarding-plane capabilities with control and orchestration layers.
- Optimize performance using profiling tools across kernel and user space.
- Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Extensive Rust coding experience, particularly in systems programming and asynchronous frameworks such as Tokio or async-std.
- Expertise building resilient, observable, and horizontally scalable distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Linux networking, namespaces, sockets, and kernel-user-space interaction.
- Proficiency with container-based environments, Git, CI/CD workflows, and performance instrumentation.
- Preferred: experience with C, C++, or Go in performance-critical environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with Linux networking stacks, eBPF, DPDK, Kubernetes networking, or service meshes.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with gRPC, Protobufs, and L2–L4 protocols including TCP/IP, QUIC, or routing encapsulations.
