Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated Python test cases and frameworks for high-volume manufacturing of optical components.
- Own end-to-end manufacturing test software updates, including change control, revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, test logs, and QMS compliance.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing of Layer 1 and Layer 2 network systems and validate hardware-software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
- Configure traffic generators such as IXIA to simulate network environments and evaluate performance.
- Support design for manufacturing, design for test, calibration, characterization, troubleshooting, and qualification testing with design, hardware, process, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Improve test yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap through continuous improvement plans and root cause analysis.
- Develop troubleshooting guidelines, automated tools, templates, data analysis, and comprehensive reports for manufacturing stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software engineers, IT, and database architects to improve the management and analysis of manufacturing test data.
- Maintain test documentation, specifications, test cases, results, and defect management processes.
- Travel internationally as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Seven years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation for optical transceiver products, including silicon photonics.
- Experience with yield analysis, manufacturing process improvement, statistical data analysis, SPC, GR&R, tester correlation, and quality management systems.
- Experience with C# and/or Python, database integration, SQL or NoSQL, and automation scripting; LabVIEW, Visual Basic, and shell scripting are useful.
- Strong experience with unit and integration testing, Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols, optical testing, network switches, and traffic generators such as IXIA.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, Windows Forms or WPF, hardware communication protocols, and version control workflows.
- Experience with ongoing reliability testing, quality control practices, qualification testing, and manufacturing test data analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate across geographically diverse teams, communicate effectively in English, and train or mentor peers.
- Experience testing 400G, 800G, or 1.6T transceiver modules is preferred.
