Base Salary
$160k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead AI projects from ideation and architecture through production, adoption, and ongoing iteration.
- Design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI systems using traditional ML and LLM-based workflows.
- Partner with stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Support, Finance, Operations, and other functions to deliver practical AI solutions.
- Support internal and product-facing AI initiatives as needed.
- Design and implement evaluation, monitoring, and observability metrics for accuracy, cost, latency, and business impact.
- Build guardrails for LLM pipelines, including validation and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Develop rapid proofs of concept and prototypes, then harden them into reliable production systems.
- Help grow the AI team through training and development of junior team members.
- Advance Prompt’s mission to improve healthcare through modern technology and AI.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building AI/ML systems in industry or academia with meaningful production ownership.
- Strong experience building, operating, evaluating, and improving end-to-end AI systems, including LLM-based workflows.
- Experience with prompt optimization, evaluation, prompting, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step workflows.
- Understanding of offline metrics, online monitoring, regression detection, cost tracking, and AI system measurement.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to ship maintainable, production-grade systems.
- Experience benchmarking and iteratively improving accuracy, cost, and latency.
- Ability to translate workflows and success criteria with non-technical stakeholders.
- Python experience above version 3.9 and basic Docker experience.
- AWS familiarity, including S3, RDS, and EC2, is preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to learn the healthcare sector, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
- Experience with internal AI tools or platforms, LLM evaluation harnesses, analytics dashboards, workflow automation, retrieval systems, healthcare software, or data processing pipelines is a plus.
- Experience with FastAPI, Streamlit, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL is a plus.
