Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve scalable, maintainable, performant, and secure software solutions.
- Build production applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Develop front-end applications using React and/or Angular and JavaScript.
- Design and implement robust RESTful APIs and services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, DevOps teams, and other functions to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, technology communities, and engineering practices.
- Implement unit, mutation, component, integration, and other testing practices.
- Work with databases, observability, logging, and monitoring tools to support production systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, containerization, and infrastructure and deployment improvements.
- Lead or guide collaborative assignments, communicate complex information, influence stakeholders, and strengthen risk and control processes.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
- Advanced front-end development experience with React and/or Angular and excellent JavaScript skills.
- Proven ability to design and implement robust RESTful APIs and services.
- Strong experience with Maven or Gradle and modern software development lifecycle practices.
- Strong testing expertise with JUnit, Mockito, PiTest, Stryker, Karate, WireMock, and React Testing Library.
- Strong database experience with SQL Server or Oracle, including efficient query writing and understanding of data models.
- Experience with Elastic and Kibana for observability, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Experience with GitLab or Bitbucket and modern code collaboration practices.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitLab CI and working with DevOps teams.
- Good understanding of cloud architecture and deployment models.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with AI-assisted development and automation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, GitLab Duo, or Claude.
- Ability to address risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology requirements.
