Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of major components of the satellite manufacturing intelligence platform.
- Translate ambiguous manufacturing, quality, and test problems into technical options, written designs, delivery plans, and measurable success criteria.
- Build production software connecting satellite build data, test outcomes, inspection signals, quality records, supplier data, engineering changes, and on-orbit telemetry.
- Design AI-native workflows using deterministic software, retrieval systems, foundation models, agentic tool use, human review, auditability, and safety guardrails.
- Create evaluation mechanisms for AI workflow accuracy, groundedness, confidence, escalation behavior, latency, and regression risk.
- Define APIs, data contracts, integration patterns, and reusable platform primitives.
- Lead design and code reviews across teams and mentor engineers through technical guidance and hands-on contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
- Experience designing or building systems using generative AI, machine learning, search, or retrieval-based techniques.
- Experience working with customers, stakeholders, or partner teams to clarify requirements and deliver software systems.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, model orchestration, structured outputs, evaluation harnesses, guardrails, or human-in-the-loop review.
- Preferred: experience with traceability, explainability, auditability, compliance, high-confidence decision support, distributed systems, data-intensive applications, workflow platforms, search systems, knowledge systems, or internal platforms.
- Preferred: experience influencing technical direction across teams and working in manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, industrial systems, quality systems, test systems, supply chain, hardware production, or another complex physical-world domain.

- The base salary range is $168,100.00–$227,400.00 annually, varying by location between El Segundo, California and Bellevue, Washington.
