
Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React)

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deliver complex cross-cutting monetization features and systems.
- Develop primarily on the backend while contributing to frontend, data-layer, and mobile efforts.
- Address technical debt, system reliability, refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Influence architecture and system design across services and applications.
- Uphold standards for code quality, testing coverage, and documentation.
- Improve internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, developer experience, and system resilience.
- Facilitate technical discussions, support decision-making, and evaluate technical trade-offs.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical challenges and unblock teammates.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to shape feature direction during discovery.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the evolution of engineering culture and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with flexibility based on the quality and relevance of experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails or other MVC frameworks and relational databases, including scalable data model and API design and optimization.
- Production experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq.
- Proficiency in React and experience contributing across frontend, backend, and data layers.
- Demonstrated experience using artificial intelligence to build, enhance, or optimize product tools and features.
- Ability to handle complex and ambiguous tasks independently.
- Understanding of business trade-offs and ability to communicate technical risks and benefits.
- Strong collaboration, mentorship, and proactive feedback skills.
- Permanent residence and work authorization in the United States.
- Preferred experience with AWS, S3, EC2, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, React Native, Terraform, GraphQL, and large language model integrations such as OpenAI or Gemini.
