Responsibilities
- Design and implement low-latency, high-availability APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, Koa, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and operate real-time data pipelines and services using Kafka, Redis, ZeroMQ, and SSE streaming.
- Write reusable, testable, and maintainable code in a TypeScript monorepo with Lerna.
- Monitor and improve service performance using Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards.
- Lead proof-of-concept efforts, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive cross-team technical initiatives.
- Review code, share knowledge, improve engineering quality, and contribute across the software development lifecycle.
- Take ownership of feature development and deploy production code within the first month.
Requirements
- Production experience building Node.js microservices, preferably with Node.js 22 or Node.js 18+.
- Strong TypeScript skills and experience working in a monorepo with shared internal packages and versioned integrations.
- Experience designing and operating real-time or event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, Redis, SSE, or WebSockets.
- Practical experience with metrics, monitoring, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major cloud platform, including services such as GKE, Cloud Run, or Artifact Registry.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated release workflows such as semantic-release or CircleCI.
- Practical knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including querying, schema design, and indexing.
- Preferred experience with financial market data, AI-assisted development tooling, OpenAPI specifications, and contract-first API design.
