Base Salary
$95k - $145k/yr
Responsibilities
- Test AI models and software using appropriate methodologies for diverse use cases.
- Generate ground truth data, develop reference materials and annotated datasets, and build testing frameworks.
- Engage internal customers to identify challenges and create solutions.
- Collaborate with universities and external partners to support innovation projects.
- Provide technical evaluations of technologies considered by Magna and support R&D engineers and researchers.
- Evaluate technologies and product designs against engineering principles, company standards, customer needs, and specifications.
- Support components and modules from conceptualization through design engineering, validation, prototyping, testing, production-feasibility assessment, and business-case evaluation.
- Design and execute research programs involving mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, electronics, heat transfer, and materials science.
- Compare experimental results with simulation data for consistency and validation.
- Track innovation project progress, coordinate efforts, estimate timelines, sequence tasks, and resolve issues.
- Define and manage outsourced software development, prototyping, validation, and testing work.
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering, including Computer Science, Electrical, Aerospace, or Robotics.
- At least 3 years of recent, in-depth, hands-on experience in a relevant field in the automotive industry.
- Automotive OEM or Tier-1 experience is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of automotive technology and basic engineering principles and physics.
- Proficiency with training and validation data, segmentation, and annotation processes.
- Proficiency programming in Python.
- Proficiency with machine learning and AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
- Experience with GitHub continuous integration and testing.
- Experience with prompting techniques, frontend web development, cloud deployment, and agentic AI frameworks.
- Ability to complete a Criminal Records Check and, if necessary, a Credit Check.
