Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable and resilient backend systems.
- Contribute to event-driven, distributed architecture and AI-adjacent integration, orchestration, and data-heavy workflows.
- Own services end to end, including design, implementation, documentation, and operation.
- Build systems supporting quotation, rate management, shipment execution, schedule optimization, carrier integrations, and automated extraction from emails, PDFs, and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with product managers, operations teams, and engineers and communicate technical trade-offs.
- Contribute to technical standards and best practices and coach team members in backend engineering, domain-driven design, and logistics-domain complexity.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis for large-scale data processing and financial calculations.
- Professional software development experience focused on high-quality, maintainable, and testable code.
- Expertise designing and implementing large-scale event-driven microservices architectures and robust APIs.
- Strong understanding of data consistency, synchronous and asynchronous communication, system performance, reliability, low latency, and high availability in distributed backend applications.
- Hands-on proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration for scalable services.
- Experience deploying and managing highly available, scalable applications with AWS or GCP.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with product thinking and ownership of pricing-data accuracy and effectiveness.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Preferred: experience integrating AI or LLM-powered features into user-facing applications.
- Preferred: experience applying Domain-Driven Design in complex product domains.
